Please note that we are running very low on stocks of some wines – especially whites. So please call or e mail to check before ordering more than a 6 bottle case of one wine on the website!

So far we have been unable to import our usual spring pallets of the most recent vintages! Due not only to transport issues but also many of the smaller independent vineyards have been let down by the usual mobile bottling contractors  so planned March/April bottling is delayed. Then in addition [read more …]

From the home of Sauvignon Blanc in the Upper Loire Valley, where the Riffault family make the only Sancerre we have imported – our 10th consecutive vintage! This is classic Sancerre Blanc  for those that love Sauvignon, whether with the local Chavignol goats cheese [read more …]

Just arrived from France are several new wines together with the 2018 vintage of our best selling sauvignon blanc, the fabulous Domaine Carroir Perrin Sancerre Blanc 2018.  Also from Bertrand Riffault at Domaine Carroir Perrin we have a small supply of his rather good Sancerre Rouge 2016
New to our list is the Domaine Vintur La Minette, an AOC Ventoux Rosé to remind you of summer in Provence!
Also from the south we have imported for the first time a lovely Picpoul de Pinet 2018 from Domaine Belle Mare [read more …]

For the first time we have imported wines from the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation on the right bank of the Gironde estuary. Both are from the fully organic Château Frédignac; their Le Gabier 2016 is a lighter style Merlot/ Cabernet Franc blend which sees no oak whereas their La Favourite 2015 is Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon matured in oak barrels. So La Favourite is deeper, longer ageing and has those typical “Cab Sauv” ripe black fruit flavours! For more details please browse our tasting notes in Bordeaux Classics.
New in our Bordeaux Prestige range is the superb Château Bardins 2016 Pessac Léognan.  [read more …]

From our Spring and early summer tours of France beyond Bordeaux, we have found 6 new wines to add to our list this Autumn.  As usual they are all wines that we will be drinking lots of ourselves, 3 luscious southern reds, a nicely aged 2013 cru Beaujolais, a Loire Valley red and just the one white – a very special  Cru Clisson from Muscadet Sèvre et Maine.
A personal favourite is the Minervois  Les Combes 2016 from Château de Bagnoles near Carcassone  [read more …]

We have just imported the latest vintage of three of our favourite summer whites  – another top notch Sancerre from Domaine Carroir Perrin (2017) and two classic Chardonnays in the Domaine Fillon et fils Chablis 17 and Domaine Guerrin Clos Vessats, St. Veran 17.  All well known to many of you, as we have imported from these wine-makers for many years [read more …]

Great news for February is that new stocks of our best selling red from the Rhone Valley – the Domaine Vintur Le Gentleman 2012 AOC Ventoux, have arrived in Bond and still only £14 a bottle – not bad for a 90 Parker rated !

We also now have the Domaine Vintur Blanc Tradition 2016 at £12 and 2016 was a brilliant year for whites in the Southern Rhone. Described as “sun filled whites with plenty of body”, so the experts advice is “to stash some away”!

Bordeaux and Beyond will again be at the Oxford Wine Festival to be held at The Oxford Union as in the previous 4 years. For details see www.oxfordwinefestival.org  – over 25 wine  merchants with special wines to taste and buy. We hope to see many of you there again this year. As usual Bordeaux and Beyond will present a selection of our wines, which as you know, are mainly from smaller independent vineyards and artisan wine-makers of France.

The Festival opens with a Friday evening session 6-10pm [read more …]
