Terrasses du Larzac the rising star of the Languedoc, the Mayfair of the Languedoc, the Grand Cru of the Languedoc, the best wines of the Languedoc etc. The most famous red wine of the Languedoc Mas de Daumas Gassac is close-by and there is no question that this is the place all dynamic young winemakers want to be. The special rocky soils, the massive diurnal temperature range as much as 20C between night and day all help to produce full -bodied fruity red wines but also with crispness and elegance.
The neglected Domain, Les Chemins de Carabotte was purchased by Jean-Yves and Nicole Chaperon in 2005 when they decided to end their corporate life in Paris and to follow their wine dream. Now it is a thriving organic vineyard, regular international award winner and proud producer of some of Languedoc`s “Premier Division” wines.
50% Syrah, 35% Grenache and 15% Carignan gives a deep ruby red wine with a powerful fruity nose. Soft, succulent and very juicy this wine is surprisingly very easy to drink. Wild blackberry, dark plums white pepper, chocolate, liquorice, smoke and garrigue herbs all wrapping round a velvety tannin and rich elegant core. To be enjoyed on its own or indeed with anything rich and intense. We challenge you not to like this wine!
