Merlot, Cabernet Franc
A classic Grand Cru St. Emilion from a great vintage, made from young vines of Ch. Tour Baladoz by famous Bordeaux winemaker Jean Michel Garcion. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc with each stage of the winemaking process being determined by individual assessment of the vats before final blending and ageing the wine in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
This is a rare St. Emilion having both style and an affordable price tag. It is both powerful and easy going, fruity and rich without going over the top. Well-structured tannins, elegant oaky notes and a long and interesting finish. All gives the impression of eating fresh grapes in a peaceful sunny vineyard when enjoying this wine.
A classic pairing with all things roasted but also during the winter perfect on its own with a good book, roaring fire and a leather armchair.
