Sauvignon Blanc
We all know that Burgundy is the land of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but have you tried a Burgundian Sauvignon Blanc? St. Bris is the only Burgundy AOC that permits Sauvignon Blanc grapes to be grown and produce a wine that is a really delicious take on that most famous white wine grape. Produced in low volumes and with true artisan passion by the Fillon family ( see entries for our Chablis range) they are lighter in style but equally as expressive as Sancerre – a Loire Sauvignon Blanc grape growing on Burgundian Chablis terroir!
A delicate pale-yellow colour with a fragrant nose of exotic fruits. The wine fills the mouth with aromatic intensity and lots of crunching fruit. You can sense the Sauvignon Blanc but this wine offers more than you expect. St. Bris is very different and maybe one day will be as famous as the world renowned Sancerre!
A very food versatile wine — lovely as an aperitif but also with roast white meats, pasta bakes and Asian food ( St. Bris is very popular in Japan). Also perfect of course with anything “fishy” from river or sea.
Get in first before everyone learns about St. Bris!
