£204.00
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot.
Château Haut Breton Larigaudière, is a beautiful Medoc-style domain surrounded by parkland in Soussons, Margaux. It was first awarded “Cru Bourgeois Supérieur” status in 1886 and acquired and renovated by the Belgian De Schepper-De Mour family in 1964. It now produces classic soft, silky and very feminine Margaux at very drinkable prices. With meticulous hard work both in the vineyard and in the cellar then finally closing with the Bordeaux skill of assemblage “the final blend is greater than the sum of its parts — after 18 to 24 months of constant tasting wine from each French oak barrel the personality of each is known and the final blend enters the bottle”.
A traditional left bank blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot from the superb yet often overlooked 2019 vintage. This wine is only now entering its first drinking window. A seductive phase with red berry aromas , powerful yet smooth tannins, juicy fruits of the forest and exotic spice notes. With further maturity, lots of excitement and new dimensions of intrigue and pleasure await to satisfy and challenge both mind and mouth! If you are an admirer of classic claret, then Margaux should always be in your cellar!
