Famous Bordeaux winemaker and Technical Director for the De Mour family properties, Jean Michel Garcion likes to do things differently at times – in essence he likes to go “crazy”! Hence the name for this dry white wine from Bordeaux that is intended to appeal to the “younger generation” of wine drinkers. Now for us we think that means the under 50’s but Jean Michel’s target is the much younger under 30 year olds!
The strange thing about this wine (apart from the Crazy Chicken label) is that it is enjoyed by all ages and all types of wine drinkers. It is an unusual blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sauvignon Gris, which undergoes traditional Bordeaux white wine making techniques resulting in a wine with a very aromatic yet delicate nose followed by a lively taste sensation of fresh fruit and citrus. The rounder and more opulent Sauvignon Gris providing the perfect foil for the more traditional Sauvignon Blanc.
Perfect on its own as an aperitif, with light dishes, grilled seafood or white meats and soft cheeses. In this mad world perhaps we should “all “go crazy” now and again!
