We are delighted to have just imported two wines from the South of France, that impressed us on our travels last year. A classy red from the Terrasses du Larzac area of Languedoc, and an unusual Chardonnay/Vermentino white, an IGP de Vaucluse
Terrasses du Larzac is the rising star of the Languedoc and the most famous red of the region, Mas de Daumas Gassac, is close by. The Croisee des Chemins 2020 from Domaine Les Chemins de Carabotte is a blend of Syrah, Grenache & Carignan, giving a deep ruby red wine which is in the “Premier Division” of Languedoc wines!
The white IGP Vaucluse is from our friends at Domaine La Garelle in Luberon. It carries the IGP label as under AOC rules Chardonnay is a “non allowed” grape. In recent times the IGP Vaucluse has become the home of some of the most innovative winemakers in France, as it allows them to experiment with different grape varieties and winemaking techniques.
