Having sold out of the 2011 Vingtinieres mid way through last years less than glorious summer, we are delighted to report that the 2012 vintage has arrived in our UK warehouse and will brighten any cloudy days!! Also on the same pallet were new vintages of Dom. Patrice Moreux Pouilly Fumé 2011 and Dom. Carroir Perrin Sancerre 2011.
Wonderfully refreshing with elegant soft fruits perfect for a patio aperitif or al fresco dining and of course made by Patrice Moreux of Les Loges , Pouilly sur Loire. Patrice now spends much of the year in Provence at his Ch. Vingtinieres vineyard, while his sons, Arnaud and Julian run the original Domaine Moreux at Les Loges making a superb range of Pouilly Fumé . The new 2011 vintage is our second from Domaine Moreux again having sold out of the 2010 by last Autumn – again a superb sauvignon blanc perfect for fresh river fish or goats cheese!
As indeed is the 2011 Sancerre from Pierre Riffault at Domaine Carroir Perrin – lime and citrus fruits with a well balanced mineral finish as the wine is a blend of grapes from small plots, each with a different “terroir” . This blending enables more complex flavours to develop if kept for a couple of years but most of us will find it too enjoyable now. So enjoy in the sunny weather to come!
