Latest additions are a lovely ripe fruit driven 2009 Ch. Fontenille rouge made by Stephane Defraine at La Sauve Majeure and a stunning new vintage from Peter Kjellberg in his 2010 Ch. Les Cabannes St Emilion.
Lovers of traditional style claret were very keen on Patrick Merle`s Lalande de Pomerol from Ch. des Moines and both ourselves and the vineyard sold-out of the 2004,2005 and 2006. The 2006 is just starting it`s drinking life now and will be equally as good as the past two vintages.
We were very fortunate to secure a parcel of Ch. des Graviers Margaux 2008 before the Australians snapped it all up. This Cru Artisan Margaux will give much pleasure over the next decade but our visit followed immediately after an agent from Sydney was arranging a large export deal — great to see that those from Oz can enjoy real wine.
