Sauvignon Blanc
This 6th generation family estate is now jointly run by father and daughter team Dominique and Mallorie Pabiot. They are based in the famous medieval “winemakers village”  of Les Loges – an area where Sauvignon Blanc vines were first grown by the Benedictine monks in the 11th century.   The Pabiot family manage the estate with respect for both tradition and modernity. The land is gently undulating, well drained and has all of the famous 3 types of soil – crushed crustacean shells (petite huite), flint and limestone. All of which are necessary for great Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine “Cuvée Plaisir” vieille vignes is made only in the best years and from old vines in very small quantities. It is a classic artisan Sauvignon Blanc and a world away from your standard “new world” factory produced offerings.
A wine of great finesse and wonderfully fresh. Aromas of an old English country garden but with that unique flinty smokiness that can only come from Pouilly Fumé.  Notes of white flowers, apricots and grapefruit wrap around the crisp mineral core and when all is in balance takes you for a very long ride.
A very versatile wine to drink chilled on its own, or with almost anything that is not too over powering, but especially, as the French would with anything good from the river or sea!
