Côtes de Duras, Domaine du Grand Mayne, Rosé 2020 (6b case)

Côtes de Duras, Domaine du Grand Mayne, Rosé 2020 (6b case)

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabinet Franc

We all need a “Monday evening bottle of wine” in our lives. A wine that is easily accessible, very affordable and very drinkable! Something inexpensive but still good and made by real people who care rather than factory made supermarket plonk. So welcome to Domaine du Grand Mayne (located in Côtes de Duras a few miles away from the Bordeaux appellation border) for that perfect “Monday evening bottle”.  So perfect that Tony is one of around 900 shareholders that own the vineyard and has been happily drinking their wines for many years.
Mathieu the resident winemaker is very proud of his Provence style Rosé wine – 4 years ago he was making about 5,000 bottles per year and now makes about 25,000 a year. The grapes are harvested at night with selective sorting and cold pressing to give the famous Provence colour and freshness to the wine. Petal pink with elegant and floral aromas, white peach, red fruits and citrus on the palate with a long and complex finish.
A perfect sunshine wine as an aperitif or with light meals, just sitting by the poolside ( or just dreaming about it!)
Just crack the screwcap, have a glass and the sun will come out!
