£198.00

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
” I find Chateau Poujeaux extremely reliable and sensibly priced. Rich, supple yet weighty, it never shows excessive extraction, it has some density but never lacks fruit” – Stephen Brook, The Complete Bordeaux 3rd Edition.
” The Cuvelier family have raised the bar at this fine property and the 2010 release will prove to be a shrewd buy for the cellar” – The Wine Society 2012
“The wine is outstanding. Rich black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with some graphite and floral notes are followed by an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied wine with impressive concentration texture and length.” –  Robert Parker 2013
We could continue with many more quotes about this superb left bank Claret. The 2010 Chateau Poujeaux is a wine for personal pleasure  – for drinking and enjoyment rather than investment. A classic blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% of each of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. All vinified plot by plot before spending 12 months in oak barrels, around a third of which are new.
The wine is now 10 years old but will go on for another 10 years just like a maturing old gentleman. A real bargain and a source of great pleasure for lovers of Bordeaux.
Drink now —2030.
