This is about as far north as Cabernet Sauvignon can go and when combined with the local Breton, as Cabernet Franc is known in the Loire, things get really interesting. Add in old vines, manual harvesting, low yields and 12 months in oak barrels and you have a wine to experience! Deep, very ripe Burlat cherry in colour with a complex bouquet of very ripe red and black fruits. On the palate fleshy at first with a plummy medium finish showing touches of vanilla and spice. Powerful, yet well balanced, this wine is drinking well now but will undoubtedly improve over the next few years. Excellent with all red meats and savoury sauces, this is a wine to impress your dinner guests! Drink now---2017 |
